Alien

Cast + Creatives

The cast of ALIEN: The Musical is composed of 36 adults and 7 children. Some are seasoned performers, while others have tapped into hidden talents to reveal adept acting skill, drawn out by Director Gregg Garner. The musical is also penned by Garner, who composed the original songs by singing quietly into an iPhone on a plane en route to Nashville from Africa.

The cast and crew of ALIEN has developed a bond that goes deeper than the camaraderie of theatre production, sharing a passion for the message of the play and the themes presented that are so relevant in our world today. Believing that this story can be a catalyst for change in the hearts and minds of those who view it is a motivation that charges beyond the love of performance, giving great purpose to those privileged to bring this story to life.

Sara Davis

Sara Davis

Assistant to the director

Sara Davis hails originally from Santa Rosa, California. An avid reader as a child, it was at an early age that she developed a passion for storytelling. She began to write her own stories at the age of 10, and typed her way steadily through high school on a desktop computer nearly as big as she was. She studied cinema and media arts in college, and worked in the film industry in Burbank, CA until moving to Nashville in 2011.

Sara has worked administratively with the Center Street Theatre Co. since it was established in 2012. She finds new life and lessons in every production she is a part of, but for her, ALIEN: The Musical is special; carrying with it a strong, humanizing message that she hopes will remain with audiences for days, weeks -- even years -- after leaving the theater.

Canaan has acted with Center Street Theatre Co. since it began. He was the lead in Elementary and It All Comes Together in the End. He shares the stage with his two brothers, Colin and Cameron. Canaan claims he’s the funniest of his three brothers.

Corey has been in numerous shows with Center Street Theatre Co.  (Anonymous, Elementary, and Real Meaningful). Sometimes, in preparation for playing Seamus, he stares directly at a picture of a lion.

Colin has performed in two productions with Center Street Theatre Co. He played a likable, but shallow barista in Elementary, and an anguished recovering alcoholic in Anonymous.  His performance this year falls somewhere between those two extremes. Colin is the youngest of the three Kagay brothers, but that hasn’t kept him from developing a unique presence on the stage.

This is Jason’s first role with Center Street Theatre Co. When Jason isn’t acting, he’s the headmaster of a local Elementary School. He is also the father of 6 children. Nobody's really sure how he made it to all the rehearsals, but he did. Earlier in life, Jason ducked out of an illustrious acting career: He was asked to throw on tights and perform a few scenes for “The Nutcracker” at the Spreckels Theater in San Diego. But the itchiness of the tights were too much for him, so he hung them up, strapped on soccer cleats, and became a professional soccer player instead. After a long interim, he now returns to the stage.
